Dr. Chunsheng Li Nominated to International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Committee 4
Congratulations to Dr. Chunsheng Li for becoming a member of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Committee 4!
Chunsheng joined CRPA in 2007, served as president in 2013–2014, and was a member of the International Liaison Committee from 2015 to 2019. He received the Distinguished Achievement Award in 2018.
Chunsheng has been contributing to the World Health Organization (WHO) radiation program since 2011. He chaired the working group on internal contamination within the Radiation Emergency Medical Preparedness and Assistance Network, the development of the WHO policy advice for the development of national stockpiles for medical countermeasures, and the development of WHO guidelines for internal contamination assessment and management. In addition, he has contributed to seven WHO missions to review national radiation emergency response capacities outlined in International Health Regulations (2005).
In the past years, Chunsheng has actively participated in several ICRP task groups, including TG115 (risk and dose assessment for radiological protection of astronauts), TG120 (radiological protection for radiation emergencies and malicious events), and TG123 (classification of harmful radiation-induced effects on human health for radiological protection purposes).
As a member of CRPA, Chunsheng’s contributions to radiation protection have been recognized internationally.
