President’s Message, April 2024

headshot of Jeff FlemingI am in the home stretch of my presidency, and what a year it’s been—busy and challenging, but also very rewarding!

I’d like to take this space in the Bulletin to encourage you all to attend our annual conference this year in Edmonton. There is still time to register and connect with your CRPA friends—old and new. The Local Organizing Committee has been working tirelessly, and I know they will put on a great event.

If you can’t make it to Edmonton, consider signing up for a professional development session. I think the term “professional development” is more appropriate than “training.” As those who have attended know, there is always lots of good discussion and banter among the attendees.

Lastly, CRPA runs on our members, and that includes corporate members. You can find a list of them on the Bulletin website and on the CRPA website. Take a moment to visit their websites to learn more about them. If your organization is not one, please consider becoming a corporate member.

One of the many benefits of corporate membership is discounted rates on advertising on the Bulletin website, in our Bulletin email blast, and in the coveted print edition of the Bulletin that goes into the conference bags. With the conference coming up, this might be a good time to think about becoming a corporate member to take advantage of those benefits.

Though my time in the president’s chair is running out, there is still time to let me know what you have loved (or didn’t), or what you think CRPA needs. You can reach me by email at [email protected].
