CRPA’s 45th Annual Conference: The Symposium on Radon and Radiation Protection

Each year, the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA) hosts a conference in a different Canadian location. The conference includes exhibitors, training opportunities, scientific sessions and workshops promoting discussion of all aspects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and social events like the annual banquet and awards ceremony.
In 2026, CRPA will host its 45th annual conference, The Symposium on Radon and Radiation Protection, as a joint venture with the Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (CARST). It will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Saskatoon, SK, on May 27 to 31, 2026.
CRPA and CARST have common goals—protecting Canadians from radiation, promoting education opportunities, collaborating with other associations, and bringing members together to share the latest scientific updates and technical information. This partnership will bring together the expertise and vast networks of our two organizations, both of which are dedicated to advancing radiation safety and promoting best practices in Canada.
Hosting the conference collaboratively will allow us to span a broader variety of topics while building bridges between our memberships to better share knowledge and advance awareness. By combining our resources and collective knowledge, we aim to deliver a truly exceptional event that will significantly impact the radon and radiation protection landscape in Canada and beyond.
Presentation topics will include the latest radon research, radiological incidents and emergency response, nuclear medicine, laser safety, uranium mining, and more.
The conference will also include tours of one-of-a-kind facilities:
- the Canadian Light Source (synchrotron)
- an active high-grade underground uranium mine
- a home radon mitigation system installation (CARST’s field trip)
- the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada’s National Laboratories and Radon Chamber
- the Fedoruk Center Cyclotron
- the Saskatchewan Research Council
