Proudly Hosting the 2026 CRPA Annual Conference in Saskatoon

Greetings from Saskatoon, the host city of the 2026 CRPA Annual Conference!
The CRPA conference is one of the highlights of the year for me. I have attended many over the years and have never left disappointed. Across the country, CRPA members always come through to make each year’s conference both informative and enjoyable.
This year’s organizing committee has been working tirelessly to put together a great set of talks, special meetings, and professional development opportunities. One of the special features of a Saskatoon conference is the opportunity to visit a Saskatchewan uranium mine.
The famous CRPA hospitality will be on display at the opening reception, at the conference dinner, and in the always-popular hospitality suite. This year’s conference will be co-hosted by the Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (CARST). To quote the organizers:
Attendees will benefit from the combined perspectives and experience of these two prominent organizations, ensuring a comprehensive and high-quality learning experience.
I couldn’t agree more. As a proud CRPA member and Saskatoonian, I am excited to share everything my city and my professional organization have to offer.
In the 2026 conference edition of the Bulletin, you will find another great series of articles. A highlight for me is the content surrounding the Anthony J. MacKay Student Paper contest. We are including a summary of the papers by each of the three finalists. They will be making their presentations at the conference, where the contest winner will be announced.
Other highlights in this issue include Sarah Charuk’s overview of the Women in Nuclear (WiN) organization, an update from Steve Nichelson (our southernmost CRPA member) on the US Health Physics Society, updates from outgoing CRPA President Tara Hargreaves and incoming President Joe Zic, another Health Physics Corner question from Jeff Sandeman, and an update from the Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Radiation Protection Committee.
I hope you enjoy this issue of the Bulletin. And I hope to see you at the 2026 joint CRPA-CARST conference!
