President’s Message, February 2021
I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
I am trying to think of a snappy phrase to start this New Year’s message, but what can be said about this past year—that it was grim? challenging? extraordinary? stressful? At times inspirational and at other times heart-breaking?
2020 was certainly all these things and more. We tried to manage the stress of isolation and being cut off from our normal lives, whether because of quarantine or the simple absence of people who normally fill our lives. It was the year of the mask. It was the year of seeing each other through a video lens. Words like Zoom, social distancing, lockdown, and shutdown became part of our everyday vocabulary.
Despite the pandemic, the CRPA board of directors continued their work. Phrases like “virtual professional development courses” and “You’re on mute” have now become part of CRPA’s lexicon. We are truly blessed to have such a great board.
I want to conclude by thanking each and every one of you for your continuous support and for staying connected with us during this pandemic.
I hope you and your loved ones continue to be safe and that you will soon be able to see and hug each other. I wish you all a healthy and safe 2021 that is full of hope and happiness.
